What a great day!
My grandma came over this morning to help get some more of the painting done. My grandpa came over as well to help me get some texture up in a few spots we had patched but boy did that stink! After about an hour I realized that we would need some more primer so Makenzie and I headed to the store to get away from the fumes of the texture.
I was in no hurry so I took her walker instead of her wheelchair. She did amazing! We grabbed some paint and talked with an employee in the flooring department for a while! She just walked and walked.
When we got home it was time for lunch and therapy.
As I ran in and out of the room trying to get a few things done I heard Makenzie begin to laugh super hard! I walked in to find Makenzie in her chair, covered with her space blanket, hitting a ball onto the floor. Her arm was moving so well. Even better she was looking at the ball to see where her hand needed to be. Amazing!
Makenzie also had a ton of fun with her space blanket. She figured out that by moving her hands and arms she was making in crinkle. I just stood there and watched as she cracked herself up for over 10 minutes! It was so nice to see her entertaining herself without the TV and really having a good time!!!
Her right hand didn't want to come out and play as much as her right hand. Makenzie also does not have as much interest looking to the right as she does to the left. So her OT got out her Easter light toy which also vibrates. She thought that was pretty great and found every way to get her left hand onto her toy!
After therapy I laid Makenzie on her mat. She spun herself in 3 complete circles. She did that a lot several months ago but I really haven't seen her move like that on the floor since she started walking in her walker.
She really had a great day and it sure did help mommy get some of her umph back again!!
Tomorrow we have our nurse visit at 7:30am, OT at 8:30am and PT at 9:30 am. After that we will be spending the rest of the day with a paint brush in our hands getting this house selling show on the road!
