How Do You View Life?

"People could view this as a tragic story. But that depends on how you look at life. You can be angry or you can appreciate what you have been given," Heather Britton

I was reading Chase's story this morning. The very last line of the article was the above quote. It put a huge smile on my face because it speaks volumes to exactly how I feel about Makenzie and our family's story.

Life is a crazy thing. There are so many ups and downs. The last 4 years have been spent trying to find equipment, doctors, advocating, reflux, travel, therapy of both traditional and non traditional variety, tubes, and medicine. I could be angry. I could be sad. I could be frustrated that this is my life and that Makenzie has had to endure so much. I could spend my days and space on this blog talking about how unfair and hard life is and how our big bad world doesn't accept my child as the beautiful person that she is. I choose not to because that is not how I feel nor what I have experienced.

I truly believe that by having a positive outlook on life and being grateful for what God HAS given our family helps the world see Makenzie for who she is. It helps us continue moving towards healing. What happened could be seen as a tragedy, sure, but it was and is not.

In the moment and many after it sure did feel that way but today  I just see a Miracle. I see a little girl who defied all odds. Who proved that she wants to be here with us. I see a little girl who loves life and has a personality like no one I have ever met. She has a sparkle in her eye and a skip in her assisted step! She is amazing..... nothing even near a tragedy!

But I guess that all depends on how you choose to look at life!

Believe... Prayer Works!
