Special Mommy Moments Monday

We made it to church today for the first time in 5 weeks. It was nice to be back and the message was a good one.

Makenzie had a good day other then a little episode at lunch.

That episode was a bit of a " you know you are a mommy of a special needs child when..." moment.

That moment got me thinking..... if I have these special moments so often while caring for Makenzie, I am pretty sure there are many other special mommys that share in the same type of special moments. The moments we have while taking care of our special kids that are funny, annoying, and so out of the ordinary. Moments that we could have never dreamed up on our own. So I am giving birth to Special Mommy Moments Monday. I would love to hear about your funny, annoying, out of the ordinary, special moments that could never have been dreamt up. The moments when you realize that you are part of the special needs mommy club.

I didn't come prepared with a button or Mr Linkey (I tried but gave up for tonight) but I will get there! So for this week play along by writting a blog post about a Special Mommy Moment you have had and leave a comment with a link to your post on this post or if you don't have a blog, just leave your Special Moment as a comment!

So.... you know you are a mommy of a special needs child when you go out for lunch with your friend and your children. You hook up your youngest child's feeding tube and half way through her feed she begins to gag, cough, and make "the face". You are able to get up, stop the pump, unhook the tubing, get the child out of the chair and half way out of the restaurant before she pukes all over the floor and the whole front side of you, with out blinking an eye.

Then you really know you are the mommy of a special needs child when you can walk back into the restaurant , put said child back into her chair, wipe off the front side of you with a burp rag, and sit back down to finish your lunch thinking nothing of all of the people that are now staring you down.

Makenzie, Makenzie, Makenzie! Your mommy must love you to the moon and back.

Believe... Prayer Works!
