Child Like Wonder

The sun was beating down. The ground was uneven and rocky. The sound of quick footsteps and glee filled the air. Red rays of light crept out from under the edges of the tent.

The excitement mounted as we hit the entrance. The black and red cover sucked us into a world that had been much anticipated. There were bins filled to the brim for as far as you could see, each holding a different treasure. Treasures that held much wonder and uncertainty.

Each basket gripped in my children's hand was filled very carefully. Each treasure was chosen for its different quality's. Some big, others loud. Bright and flashy could catch the eye but only would last a little while. How would they possibly choose.

I sat and watched the innocent laughter and child like wonder in the faces of my three boys.  It really didn't matter what ended up in their baskets as long as the light and joy in each of their faces lasted for an eternity.

Growing up is so much fun.

Tonight, if you asked my kids, I am the best mommy in the world. All I had to do was take my little men to  buy some fireworks! If only life was that easy ALL the time!

Makenzie thinks fireworks are pretty cool too! The louder and brighter...... the better!
