Healed Parking

Before Makenzie's accident I didn't really give much thought to who used the handicap parking spaces. I just knew I couldn't park there.

Fast forward to now, when I need the spot it makes me so upset to find people without place cards taking up all of the spots. I find myself policing the spots and even confronting people that do not have the little blue, date stamped badge hanging from the rear view mirror.

Why...you ask?

Picture this....a cold snowy day(that would be today), a mom(that would be me) putting her 30 lb stiff, flexing, very little trunk control abled, daughter(that would be Makenzie)on her hip and walking from the car into the building.

Wait, there is more.

To top it off add a coat, talker, juggling a wheel chair with the hand that isn't holding the child because it is too cold outside to stand in the parking lot and put her in the chair.

I NEED that spot. I do not just want it. So do many others just like me.

This is not a rant. It is not a guilt trip. I just want every one to understand what those spots are truly for. If you do not need the spot don't take it! PLEASE! If I need to get on my hands and knees and beg... I will! LOL!!

So with that said I am announcing my community on

theblogfrog!

Come and hang out and discuss what it is like to be a parent of a special needs child or how your life has been impacted by a child with special needs! Leave prayer requests or just talk about normal everyday stuff! To join my community click on the "Visit My Community" link on the side bar to the right!

Makenzie continues to do very well! Keep praying! Believe... Prayer Works!
