Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day was a somewhat frustrating but funny movie. Today was a day that I wish I could replay over and over. Makenzie was in a great mood! She did wonderful in therapy, had fun at school, and ate great.

It started with PT! Man did she ever work hard! They did some sitting with bean bags, rolling on the ball, kicking the ball, walking with the ball, hitting the ball, and sitting on the stair with open hands, weight into the palm, arm, and shoulders, and a little bit of walking with no hip support!

Makenzie just amazes me! I was rolling the ball to her and she would pick her leg up and kick the ball. Then we hit the ball and she was moving her arm out when the ball can towards her.

She is doing a great job rolling and she even was able to stand up next to the ball, head up, and with little...at one point for a split second NO... support!

Then it was OT and Makenzie was TIRED!! They still got some good therapy done but Steph had to take her shoes off because Makenzie was infatuated with them! We finally gave into the beast and just put them on her feet and she thought that was great!

At school today the fire station came for an in house field trip. They gave a little talk on fire safety, got dressed up in their gear, and then the kids went out to see the fire truck and ambulance.

This is still hard for me. Tears came and went as unlike the other kids my princess has used their services many times! When the paramedic was telling the kids that there was shots just like at the doctors on the ambulance I just wanted to say yeah,,, and drills and tubes and wires, and suction, and tears, screams, heartbreak, fear, ... and.... and... and... but of course I didn't! As the kids walked back inside I told them how thankful I was for what they did because they are the reason my daughter is alive today! Still very raw!

I also met with Makenzie speech therapist and we got Makenzie language loaded onto her brand new, very own, talker! She will have speech tomorrow so I am sure we will work on the mount for her chair and the table and of course try it out for the first time!!!! YEAH!!!

When we got home a long time friend of the family brought us a wonderful dinner to enjoy! Enjoy I did! There was no cooking tonight! Thank You Joy! The even better part to this is that her bible study from church has asked if I would like them to bring a meal once a week for 6 months!!!! God is SOOOO good! Meal preparation is something that I really struggle with so a HUGE thanks for this!!!! Thanks ladies!!!

Pray for Sam, one of Makenzie's friends, tommorrow as his mommy and daddy bring their him in to have a plate removed from his leg after a break to his femur. Pray that the recovery goes well and this bone doesn't break again!

Thanks for all of the prayers! Believe.... Prayer works!
